A comprehensive guidebook to one of the best wilderness hiking trails on the west coast of Vancouver Island, Canada. The 47-kilometre trail is 90 minutes by car west of Victoria and is open to hikers all year round. Highlights of the trail include white sandy ocean beaches and giant cedars in spectacular rainforests. The trail requires 4 to 6 days to complete, and, unlike the West Coast Trail, is not for expert hikers only. Day hikes are possible on many sections of the trail. The book provides detailed information on the trail, information on hidden places to explore, a fold-out contour map, preparation and safety tips, and information on how to combine a hiking trip on the trail with other trails in the area, including the West Coast Trail.
